Organizing Tips

Check out our Get Organized for the Holiday Season Tips!

Packing in an organized manner can protect your items and make unpacking faster and easier.  Pack electronic accessories and cords in a clear plastic bag.  Stash the bag in one of the suitcase's extra pockets.

It is also helpful to pack undergarments in clear plastic bags.  Many luggage stores sell a hanging lingerie organizer.  It has specially designed clear pockets to hold your undergarments and has a hook.  When you arrive at your destination you hang it up and your undergarments are unpacked.  You'll be glad they are protected if your bag is searched and you will not be leaving them in a drawer used by strangers.

When organizing your closet for the change of seasons, face all of your hangers in one direction.  As you wear an item, turn the hanger the opposite way.  At the end of the season, items on hangers not turned should be handed down or donated.

Also- do not store clothing in plastic dry cleaner bags.  Humidity trapped in the bags may cause stains to reappear or the garment to discolor.

Keep track of those socks that get lost in the dryer by placing a small basket in the laundry room.  Every time only one sock comes out of the dryer, throw it in the basket.  When the sock's mate shows up, you can easily pair it up and put them away!  Try it, you will spend less time searching for lost socks and money purchasing replacements.

Then I learned that the only way
things are going to change for me
is when I change
